[more...] Chesscat Excels at NationalsMon, 14 May 2012Metcalf first grader, Pierce McDade, placed 15th out of 289 K-1 students at the 2012 National Elementary Chess Championships. The three day, seven round tournament drew 2,234 competitors from 39 states to the Opryland Hotel in Nashville, Tennessee. Pierce ended with a 5-1-1 record. Running Club Takes Off at Lake RunMon, 07 May 2012Ten members of Metcalf Running Club (MRC) joined the fun at the annual Lake Run in Hudson. Finishing first in the male 19-under division was Grayson Will who covered the 4.37 mile course in 30:46. Michael Elzanati finished third in this division! Coach Lauren won her division with a 32:36.
